From a distance, Cordelia Brimsnout looked like a perfectly normal attractive young girl.Up close, she was anything but - her bronzed skin had the sleek textureof snake scales and her fingertips ended in wickedly curved claws.

A Drop of Life

Janet, an owl-woman, and Moggin, a briar-troll, brought death to the essence-furnaces on the eve of their daughter's birthday.Moggin, his mule's tail tied in a careful elf-knot, wasn't carrying the death very well. He was keeping it in a large, awkward pot and some of it was spilling over the sides, causing his arms to bleed."Careful," Janet said. "We don't need you hung up in bed all day."--Some excerpts from the Fraternity of Order's Bestiarae Planarae:

All right, now, you didn't hear this dark from me, but...

Griff stitched me up the best he could, but it didn't matter much. My name still ended up in the dead-book.I suppose he was a mite surprised when I sat up on his chopping block."Oh, hell, not again," The dwarven physician spat, wiping his bloody hands on his smock. "Third time this week. Can't you have some sense of professionalism? When you're dead, stay dead. How else am I supposed to make a coin?""Gloria." I croaked.

Chapter IV of the Planescape Campaign Setting presents 9 faction feats for each faction. The number nine being 3 times 3, it's in accord with the Rule of Threes, but there's still room for improvement. What's better than 3 x 3, you ask? Well, for starters, 3 x 3 x 3, or three to the third degree.

On the nature of Sigillian portals

The portals of Sigil. Such a delightful mix of interversal unity that ultimately disgusts everyone as much as it fascinates them in the end. I've taken to studying these portals to allow for some musings as to what their purpose may be.To begin this essay let me introduce a fun scientific fact about the portals of Sigil: They take time. It's true, I've witnessed this myself. The importance of this may elude you, but it's a simple enough experiment if you'll indulge me for a some minutes. The receipe:

There is a shop in the Lady's Ward called the Golden Ziggurat. It holds little resemblance to its namesake, being a blocky mausoleum of a building with red marble columns supporting its front. Behind the counter is a man named Lianzer, an arrogant, prying, unpleasant merchant who seems to speak in double-meanings and ghastly implications. He is not well-known to the average Cager, and those who live nearby shun his establishment becaues of his dark reputation.
